Time out in nature

I don't know about anyone else, but I absolutely have to spend some time outdoors every day. If I don't connect in some way with nature, I feel completely out of sorts. Some days, even just sitting outside in the garden with a cup of coffee, listening to the sounds around me is enough. I really try to ignore any 'unnatural' sounds, and zone in on birdsong, the breeze blowing through the plants, insects buzzing around.

My favourite outdoor activity though involves walking my dogs. There are some fields nearby, and a little wood which can literally reset me. I can start my walk feeling stressed or distracted and by the time I get home, I'm totally chilled out, and grounded.

Often when you're feeling low, stressed, out of sorts, the last thing you want to do is get yourself dressed and go outside, but trust me, it really does help, even on a spiritual level.

Go on .... put your trainers/boots/coat on and take a stroll.
