The tarot is my friend. It’s a friend that I use on a daily basis. It can help me to make sense of a confusing situation or a state of mind (among other things) by connecting deeply to my intuition. This intuition along with a deep understanding of the tarot cards is what allows me to provide readings.
We all have intuition, each and every single one of us. Over millennia, external influences and pressures in our lives often mean that our intuitive abilities have been pushed to the very backs of our minds. That doesn’t mean to say that your intuition has to stay there, it’s easy to bring it back to the forefront.
We understand so little about the human mind and how it works. There was a theory that we only understand around 10% of the human brain. This theory has been debunked and the reality is much higher than that, but the fact is, there is little understanding of the connection between the brain and intuition. Some believe it’s a primitive instinct that has been ‘dumbed down’ over millions of years. After all, very few of us now rely on the ancient survival instincts that our ancestors relied upon a few thousand years ago. Use it or lose it! I suspect that’s what happened to human intuition.
Here’s a few of my tips on beginning to work with your intuition:
· Learn to trust your gut feelings. Trust your ‘hunches’. Gut feelings in my opinion are rarely wrong.
· Meditate. Take time out to yourself in complete peace. Concentrate on each of your senses one by one. What can you hear? What can you smell? What can you feel?
· Slow down. Take a walk outside in nature.
· Listen – by paying attention to what is going on around you, you will see/hear/feel things you perhaps wouldn’t usually.
I’d really love to read your comments. If you try any of the above tips, please do let me know how you get on, and if you have any tips of your own, please add them below.
